Summary

Polishes the local CLI experience across banner, logger, benchmark tables, and result reporting. All changes are scoped to the local terminal output — CI loggers (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Buildkite) are unaffected.

1. Banner styling (src/cli/shared.rs)

  • Render the ASCII logo in bold CodSpeed orange (#FF8700)
  • Add a dim separator line between logo and metadata row
  • Show version as a bold tag, URL in orange
  • Output via eprintln for consistency with other UI output

2. Local logger visual hierarchy (src/local_logger.rs, src/main.rs)

  • Group headers: Replace noisy ►►► with a single bold orange ▶ prefix
  • Spinner: Custom dot-animation tick characters with elapsed time counter
  • Group completion: Show a green ✔ checkmark with dimmed group name and elapsed duration
  • Errors: Red bold ✗ cross prefix
  • Warnings: Yellow ▲ triangle prefix
  • Debug: Quiet dimmed · dot prefix
  • Info: Consistent 2-space indent for all log levels
  • Main error display: Show the primary error once; causes in debug mode only

3. Benchmark result tables (src/cli/run/helpers/benchmark_display.rs)

  • Instrument icons: ⚙ for CPU Simulation, ⏱ for Walltime, ☰ for Memory
  • Color-coded primary metrics: Time and peak memory values highlighted in cyan for instant recognition
  • Color-coded StdDev: Green (≤2%), yellow (≤5%), red (>5%) — noisy benchmarks are visible at a glance
  • Color-coded CPU distribution: Bold when dominant (≥70%), dim when minor (<20%)
  • Better padding: 1-char horizontal padding for breathing room
  • Detailed summaries also enhanced with cyan/colored highlights
  • Snapshot updated

4. Impact reporting & upload feedback (src/cli/run/poll_results.rs, src/cli/exec/poll_results.rs, src/upload/uploader.rs, src/upload/polling.rs)

  • Directional arrows: Green ▲ for improvements, red ▼ for regressions, dimmed ● for neutral/zero impact
  • Report URL: Cleaner View full report: label (dimmed) with prominent blue bold underlined link
  • Upload success: Green ✔ checkmark prefix
  • Improved polling timeout error message

Test plan

  • cargo check passes
  • cargo fmt -- --check clean
  • cargo clippy clean (no warnings)
  • All 21 helpers tests pass (including updated snapshot)
  • 158 total tests pass; 58 failures are pre-existing (walltime/perf tests requiring sudo, run_environment tests requiring CI env vars)
  • Manual visual inspection of codspeed run / codspeed exec output

  stopwatch for Walltime, trigram for Memory
- Highlight primary metrics (time, peak memory) in cyan
- Color-code StdDev: green (<=2%), yellow (<=5%), red (>5%) to
  flag noisy benchmarks at a glance
- Color-code CPU simulation distribution percentages: bold when
  dominant, dim when minor
- Add cell padding for better readability
- Apply same color enhancements to detailed summary output
- Update snapshot test
